FRANCE AND INDIA SIGN FOR 17 COOPERATION AGREEMENTS AND CONTRACTS---------------------------------- The 17 Agreements cover several sectors, such as increasing bilateral cooperation in the following sectors.At the press conference, which took place on 10 April at the "Elysée Palace" has raised the progress of negotiations between the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and French President Francois Hollande. The most important announcement concerning the agreement on the acquisition by India 36 "Rafales" Jets, produced by Dassault Company (36 of 64 initially planned), which concluded eventually, after lengthy negotiations that started since 2012.------------------------------------------------------------------- President François Hollande said, while shaking hands with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, "I am very sensitive to your willingness to purchase 36" Rafales"Jets, as soon as possible, and to pass the contracts. Our partnership has just crossed an extra step united by trust. "----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Other sectors include a total of 17 agreements on which the France and India engage each other to enforce these major projects and cement bilateral relations Franco-Indian. THE PRESIDENT FRANCOIS HOLLANDE ANNOUNCES THE BRIDGES OF AGREEMENTS, UNDER A BILATERAL COOPERATION SECURITY: France and India agree they must intensify their cooperation within the framework of JWG (Joint Working Group) on Counter-Terrorism, including on information and intelligence sharing on terror networks and work together to share experiences on dealing with the growing phenomenon of radicalization. They asked officials on both sides to schedule the next meeting of the JWG on Counter-Terrorism at the earliest. TECHNO-COMMERCIAL REINFORCE COOPERATION BETWEEN FRENCH AREVA AND INDIAN NPCIL SINCE 2009------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NUCLEAR ENERGY: India and France signed on the stalled nuclear project in Jaitapur in Maharashtra, after Prime Minister Narendra Modi held wide-ranging talks with French President Francois Hollande. An MoU was signed between Larsen and Tubro and AREVA aimed at cost reduction by increasing localization, to improve the financial viability of the Jaitapur project. The agreement will also enable transfer of technology and development of indigenous nuclear energy industry in India. (See article 4 NUCLEAR ENERGY) BILATERAL ECONOMIC COOPERATION FOR IMPROVING STATE OF GLOBAL ECONOMY-------------------------- France also announced an investment of 2 billion euros in India as Mr. Modi invited French companies in technology in the fastest-growing economy. The French President François Hollande welcomed Prime's Minister's "Make in India" initiative, aimed at transforming India into a global manufacturing hub, acknowledged that it presented significant opportunities for French Business and industry, and expressed France's commitment to contribute to its success. In this context, India and France are committed to finding solutions to current market access issues hindering trade opportunities. they noted with satisfaction a number if new and ongoing projects of French companies in keeping with the "Make in India" policy. President Hollande, appreciated Primes Minister's Modi, initiative to receive delegations of French CEO's in infrastructure and defense sectors to encourage them further in this direction (According to Elysée Palace).See article 5 ECONOMY COOPERATION

MAKE IN INDIA AND PEOPLE TO PEOPLE CONTACTS COOPERATION FOR FRANCE AND INDIA: The two leaders stressed that there is immense potential for increasing tourism between India and France. In tis regard, they welcomed the signing of a Letter of Intent on promoting closer cooperation between two countries in this area, including on twinning of historical monuments and sites i the two countries. (According to Elysee Palace). France also informed India of its decision to implement a scheme for expedited 48 hours visa issuance for Indian tourists. EDUCATION SCIENCE TECHNOLOGY SPORTS AND HELATH EXCHANGE ------------------------------------------------ The two leaders expressed their appreciation on the long standing collaboration in science and technology between the two countries and reaffirmed their support to expand further through establishing a Joint Indo-French Science Technology. (See article 7 EDUCATION SCIENCE TECHNOLOGY)--------------------------------------------- CLIMATE CHANGE: The two leaders expressed confidence that "The Paris Conference (COP21) will finalize a historic agreement for the post 2020 period. They underscored the importance of working together and with other countries to conclude an ambitious, comprehensive, universal, balanced and equitable climate agreement in Paris that will also encourage genuine technology, collaboration for adaptation and mitigation and financial support in meeting this common global challenge.
