“PRES. MACRON HAD ALREADY WISHED FOR A MORE SOVEREIGN &MORE HUMAN EUROPE” (JANUARY 19, 2022) As part of the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron, had already delivered a speech to the European Parliament in order to set out the strategic priorities of the PFUE, on January 19, 2022. The leader of the State had then recalled that Europe was built on democracy, progress for all and peace; a balance threatened today. The presentation of the strategic objectives of the PFUE was an opportunity for the President to once again defend his vision and his ambition for Europe: to make Europe a democratic, cultural and educational power, a power for the future and a balance power. He also expressed his desire to update the Charter of Fundamental Rights, "in particular to be more explicit on the protection of the environment or the recognition of the right to abortion" but also to build, between Europeans, a “new order of security and stability”.
President Macron, has thus set out the strategy he intends to give to the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union, around three main axes:
$A more sovereign Europe.
$A new European growth model.
$ A more humane Europe.
