USPA NEWS - The President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron welcomed in Paris the Indian Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, guest of honor at the parade on July 14, 2023. This invitation marks the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the strategic partnership that binds the two countries. As soon as he landed in Paris PM Modi tweeted "I thank President @EmmanuelMacron and Mrs. Macron for hosting me at the Élysée Palace this evening,”
Alongside the French President Macron, Prime Minister Modi thus attended the 14th of July parade during which 3 Indian guests and around 240 soldiers from the Indian armed forces marched."Finally, you know how much importance I give to the dialogue between our cultures, which nourishes the grand narrative of our common history. The major announcements concern the defense domain. Indeed Acquisition Council approved the purchase of 26 Rafales for the Indian Navy, an accord in principle announced by the Indian Defense Ministry. The price is to be negotiated with the French, a statement said. The purchase of three Scorpene submarines, developed by France and Spain, was also approved.
